      Human resource is the most important of all the resources. It is the sum total of the inherent abilities, acquired knowledge and skills available in the organization. It is the most important assets than money or physical equipment.

     Human resource planning is the process by which a management desires how an organization should move from its current manpower position to its expected manpower position.  By this, the management should have right kind of people at the right place at the right time at the right numbers. .  (Kesavan R. et al.,2004)

      Human resource planning is determined “the human resources required by the organization to achieve its strategic goals” (Amstrong,2006). According to the Bulla and Scott (1994) it is ‘the process for ensuring that the human resource requirements of an organization are identified and plans are made for satisfying those requirements’.

      Human resources planning was defined as the process of assessing the organization’s human resources needs in the light of organizational goals and making plans to ensure that a competent, stable work force is employed. (French,1990)

       Human resource planning is based on the belief that people are an organization’s most important strategic resource. It is generally concerned with matching resources to business needs in the longer term, although it will sometimes plane shorter term requirements.



Following activities are contained in the human resources planning

1.Forcasting of manpower requirement.

2.Assesment of present manpower.

3.Determining the future requirement (qualitatively and quantitatively)

       many companies in japan have been making adjustment for increasing their competitiveness through getting smart performance. Human resource planning have been done by companies to determine the dynamic equilibrium between demand and supply human resources in order to anticipate the change of business environment.

HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING IN ABC BANK

     According to the corporate plan the human resources department of the ABC bank prepare the bank human resources plan. After forecasting of manpower requirement, the HR departmenrt follows the methods to fill vacancies through transfers, promotion and recruitments. As ABC bank was able to prepare a successful human resources plan bank was capable to achieve the goals.

CONCLUSION

      Human resources planning is very important for every organization. According to the HR plan organization is able to predict its manpower requirements and control the number of man power deployed and to predict with accuracy, matching of manpower needs to the firm business plans and control the wage and salary cost.
